Top 5 Things You Should Know Before You Trade Today - Bursa/KLSE
Malaysian equities are heading into today's session with traders focused on key technical support levels, institutional selling pressure and stock-specific momentum.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI suffered a sharp sell-off in the previous session, while the Hong Kong 50 Index also remained under pressure after breaking below its recent consolidation range.
With several major indices approaching important technical levels, traders should keep a close eye on support and resistance zones, market-moving events, momentum stocks and broker calls before taking positions.
Here are the five things to watch before the market opens today.
1. KLCI Support & Resistance: Bulls Face a Critical Test
A wave of aggressive institutional selling wiped 26 points off the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI in a single session, sending the benchmark index down 1.56% to 1,643.96.
The sharp decline pushed the index decisively below its short-term moving averages and brought it closer to the important 1,630-1,635 macro demand zone.
Throughout September, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Futures have been forming a sequence of lower highs under pressure from the 20-EMA and 50-EMA, highlighting the prevailing bearish momentum.
The September 29 sell-off intensified the pressure, with the contract falling to an intraday low of 1,633 before stabilising around 1,636.

2. HSI Support & Resistance: Watch the 24,300-24,385 Zone
The Hong Kong 50 Index remains under significant selling pressure after being rejected from the 24,700 resistance level on September 23.
Following the rejection, the index moved into a stronger downtrend, trading below its declining 20-EMA and 50-EMA.
Recent sessions had created a consolidation area around 24,500, but renewed selling pressure on September 29 pushed the index down toward 24,410.
